Scottsdale, AZ (Oct. 10, 2005) - More than 100 invited guests turned out to celebrate the Automotive Dealership Institute’s opening party on Friday, Oct. 7. Among the local automotive dignitaries in attendance were Charity Crawford, executive director of the Arizona Independent Auto Dealers Association; Mary Robertson, human resources director of Airpark Chrysler Jeep; and Diane Huffmaster, southwest sales director of Southwest Motor Service Programs.

The festivities got under way with a ribbon-cutting ceremony courtesy of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce. Cutting the ribbon was Bob Conners, a 50-year automotive industry icon in Canada who flew in just for the occasion.

I have known ADI’s CEO and Director of Operations Alan Algan for many years, Conners said. I know he has both integrity and class, and that his new venture will be a huge success. Training is so important in the automotive industry, and Arizona is fortunate to have a school of the caliber of the Automotive Dealership Institute.

Representatives from Arizona Foothills Magazine, the Arizona Republic, the Employment Media Group and jobing.com were among the press corps in attendance. A harpist provided the musical entertainment.

Hollywood producer and TV writer Douglas Tuber, and former recording artist R.B. Greaves, whose hit song, Take a Letter, Maria, was a chart-topper in the early 1970s, were among the guests from out of state.

The Automotive Dealership Institute is a Scottsdale, AZ-based automotive management training facility that specializes in educating the next generation of Finance and Insurance managers and service advisors. The Automotive F&I Management training course is a four-week program that provides instruction in such critical areas as legal compliance, interest and payment calculations, and aftermarket product presentations. Both classes accept students with no previous automotive background.
