Finance Manager: Product Presentation

The most effective method of presenting a product is to counsel the customer about his or her investment utilizing the information collected during the interview process, and offer the products or package that best serve his or her needs. In order to make an intelligent decision the customer needs to know all of the facts. It is the Finance Manager’s responsibility to make sure the customer is given all the information on very available protection option, so he or she can make an informed decision. Customers must be made aware of their need for F&I products, or they won’t buy them.

The Finance Manager should be perceived by the customer as a dealership bank manager, not as another salesman. F&I products are designed to protect the customer from significant financial loss, or to add value to the customer’s substantial investment in his or her vehicle. The presentation should be made logically, with the Finance Manager offering sound advice to his customer. The customer should view the Finance Manager as an expert adviser who has the customer’s best interests in mind. Indeed, most successful F&I Managers do just that.
